The idea for the album occurred while listening to American minimalists' drone music. Minimalism arose as some kind of response to society's consumerism. Minimal music is special for not having any proceeding or development but a listener experiences the whole composition's musical form from within. The album "Silent Meadows" is some kind of response to the noise that comes from every social platform. Connecting drone accompanying technique with Lithuanian folk melodies and atmospheric sounds produces a meditative, calming, and harmonic substance that provides an effect of the silence of thought to a listener. Attention is brought to the synthesis of sounds of nature, vocals, and electronic music. This is how we came across the idea to connect three different music styles: folklore, minimal drone, and atmospheric ambient. We use folk melodies from Lithuanian regions such as Lithuania Minor, Aukštaitija, Samogitia, and Dzūkija; also melodies with themes of war, love, and family. We consider folk melodies as a starting point for subsequent musical development. As the album's Fabula we chose an old man - a pseudo-character who sits on a bench and observes the life of his village. While listening to the pieces of the album you can perceive events that change our lives irreversibly - parenthood, farewell, and starting a family.
